The road to Sozopol
Four hundred and thirty kilometres, about four hours forty-five. Motorway to Burgas and then thirty kilometres south — the opposite direction from Sunny Beach and Nessebar. The road south is calmer even at the height of the season.
The old town is on a peninsula with narrow streets. Leave the hotel name in the request so the driver knows whether he can drive in or will drop you at the entrance to the old town.
Read this before you book
The same applies here: Burgas airport is about forty minutes from Sozopol. If your flight is not bought and the coast is the destination, look at Burgas first. From Sofia this makes sense when you are landing in Sofia, travelling out of season, or moving several people at once.
Luggage and child seats
Room for a full van of suitcases. Child seats for every age — say how many you need; the form shows how many are included.
About Sozopol
Sozopol is one of the oldest towns on the western Black Sea, founded by Greek colonists, and its old quarter is built of wooden houses standing on stone foundations. There are two beaches, one either side of the isthmus: one sheltered, one open. It is quieter than Sunny Beach and dearer at the peak of the season.
